Kings Arms Gardens
Description
A path leads from the Kings Arms yard (with 17th century buildings buildings reputed to be a Work House) towards the newer parts of town, and along this path you will find a gate that is most times locked, leading into what is now called the Kings Arms Gardens.
This area was neglected for many years, but in 1967 one William Nourish created a wonderful garden here. Since his death it has been maintained by the Town Council and a group of volunteers.
It is open to the public from time to time, and these times are announced on a notice board in the gardens visible from the path. There is a small admission fee.
